The project in Dülmen is based on the deliberate transformation of the existing swimming infrastructure into a facility with a significantly expanded programme and a year-round character. The key objective was to complement the sports function with an attractive leisure and relaxation offer, while maintaining the continuous operation of the existing complex.

The investment represents an extension and modernisation of a functioning swimming complex which, prior to the redevelopment, primarily served as a sports and leisure facility. As a result of the implemented changes, it gained a new quality - being transformed into a multifunctional water park that meets contemporary user expectations.

The spatial layout is based on integrating existing and new elements into one cohesive functional structure. Particular emphasis was placed on the relationship between the interior and the outdoor areas, enabling year-round use of the facility. The sports function has been complemented by an extensive leisure zone and a wellness area, allowing the facility to respond to the needs of different user groups - from swimmers, through families with children, to those seeking relaxation.

The expansion focused on extending the existing programme with new elements enhancing both attractiveness and functionality. The project included:

• new pool hall
  leisure pool with indoor–outdoor connection, allowing year-round use
  year-round outdoor pool
  expanded wellness area, including saltwater pools, themed saunas and relaxation spaces
  new water attractions and an extended children’s and family zone
  development and organisation of outdoor areas with additional leisure and recreational functions
