Expansion of the wellness zone of the Water Park in Koszalin

The expansion of the wellness and sauna zone at the Water Park in Koszalin creates a multi-dimensional relaxation space, combining saunas, relaxation areas, dining facilities, and outdoor zones.

The project constitutes an extension of the existing Water Park complex in Koszalin and integrates with its current functional layout. The new section has been designed to allow both full integration with the existing changing and wellness areas, as well as the independent operation of the sauna zone. The concept aligns with the character of a recreational facility of regional importance.

The new zone includes the expansion of changing facilities and the extension of the wellness area, which serves as a circulation hub between the existing part of the complex and the outdoor sauna zone.

The functional program includes: a new changing area, increasing the facility’s capacity, an entrance zone with ticket desks and an ESOK (Electronic Customer Service System), a multifunctional relaxation area divided into dining and leisure sections, the HEKSAGON ritual sauna — a space for immersive sauna ceremonies, a sauna garden as a natural outdoor regeneration zone, cooling pools and showers, including hydrotherapy elements (Kneipp path, showers), a brine graduation tower and a salt cave complementing the health-oriented functions

The spatial layout is based on a clear user flow and the possibility of flexible zoning, allowing for the organization of special events and the independent operation of the sauna area.

Innovative spatial solutions

The design incorporates and integrates the existing outdoor sauna building, which becomes part of the new sauna complex.

The building is partially embedded into the ground, creating the impression of being “set into the slope.”

The roof over the sauna hall is fully glazed, allowing natural light to penetrate the interior and creating a space in direct connection with nature.

The facility features a modern Hexagon Sauna.

The newly added sauna changing rooms can be used during peak season as additional changing facilities for the existing water park.

In the sauna garden, a cooling pool and cooling showers have been designed, while inside the building there are numerous showers and a cold-water bucket — all intended to help users cool down after sauna sessions.

At the center of the sauna hall, a sunken relaxation zone has been designed, set below the main floor level, featuring heated benches and a bio-fireplace. It forms the heart of the sauna complex — a space for relaxation, conversation, and calm. The fireplace zone is connected to a food and beverage bar.

The facility also includes a relaxation room overlooking the sauna garden.
