Fractal Park is a residential concept located on the outskirts of Katowice, where the urban fabric meets nature. This fractal diversity allows it to respond to directions and surroundings, optimizing sunlight, improving ventilation, and opening up panoramic views. Each module is slightly offset, creating a dynamic façade and layout that breaks the monotony of standard high-rise buildings.

Green Oasis – Apartments Between Parks
The development's location is a real asset: the plot borders two green parks and is just minutes from the city center. However, the southern side presented a challenge – a multi-lane road, part of the Trans-European Road Corridor, runs right next to it. To ensure residents enjoy peace, privacy, and uninterrupted views of the greenery, we conducted a comprehensive urban planning and acoustic analysis, taking into account noise, insolation, and airflow parameters. This allows the project to combine modern aesthetics with maximum comfort for future residents.
Thanks to detailed urban planning and landscape analyses, and drone-based VR simulations, we reversed the original plan. We designed a form that separates the outermost apartments from the busy thoroughfare, while simultaneously framing the park panorama on the upper floors and the view of the green courtyard on the lower floors. A vertical garden wraps around the entire structure – a private, lush green space for every tenant and an ecological shield that cools, filters the air, and transforms the façade into a living, breathing ecosystem. The southern façade adopts a triangular geometry, framing views of the park. To avoid mutual shading between balconies and green areas, we proposed the use of a fractal leaf structure.

Lightness of Form
Inspired by nature, we shifted the triangular layouts of the apartments relative to each other. The result? A dynamic façade, full of light and greenery, combining scenic beauty with maximum comfort for residents. Given the prestigious location, we wanted the building's form to be light, reflecting the city of Katowice – the "city of gardens." Although the city's history is short, it is turbulent – often depicted in art and architecture as spurs of freedom, depicted as wings. Due to its proximity to a major transportation route in this prestigious location, we decided to give the building a lightness to visually evoke the idea of freedom symbolized by Katowice.
Inside the Fractal Park apartments, high glazing brings light and green views into the living rooms, creating a sense of open, dynamic space. Each apartment has a modular area with planters and greenery, providing residents with a private oasis of peace in the heart of the city.
