The expansion of Park Wodny Kraków, together with Hotel Swing and the sauna zone featuring Vital Pools, creates an integrated complex. The connection between the hotel and pool areas forms a long façade — treated in the design as an opportunity to create an iconic elevation visible from a distance.
The designed “RED CARPET” draws attention and clearly guides users toward the entrance zones. Ultimately, the complex will become the main element of a newly planned office and residential district.
The project is being developed in collaboration with APA Wojciechowski.
Red Carpet - an iconic façade linking the hotel and sauna complex with the aquapark
The extended façade, with clearly emphasized entrances to both key zones of the complex, gives the building a distinctive character, making it a standout element in the urban landscape and reinforcing the identity of the ensemble together with the hotel.
The investment area includes two main components — the aquapark and the hotel — which function complementarily while serving different user groups. The recreational zone is centered around the existing pool hall and the fitness club on the upper floor, while the hotel section provides facilities for individual and business guests, including users of conference spaces.
Located approximately 5 km from the center of Kraków, the site is surrounded by dense service-oriented development — shopping centers, office buildings, and retail outlets. In a broader urban context, the area aligns with the vision of an evolving masterplan, aimed at transforming it into a multifunctional district with a balanced character, combining residential, office, and service functions. The project plays a significant role within this structure, strengthening its recreational and leisure potential.
The aquapark expansion project focuses on integrating the existing buildings and elevating the facility’s standard through the introduction of new, high-quality functional zones. A key element is the new Vital Pools area with direct access to an outdoor garden, as well as a two-level, textile-free sauna complex with an intimate sauna garden, located adjacent to the hotel.
The functional layout adapts to the existing site development, inserting new functions between the hotel segment and the water park. The concept is based on extending the main entrance zone and reorganizing the changing and sanitary areas, allowing for clear and intuitive circulation throughout the facility.
Access is provided through two independent entrances — one to the pool zone and one to the sauna zone — both located at the front of the building. Each circulation route leads through service and changing areas toward the southern parts of the complex, including the main pool hall with an outdoor swimming pool and a sunbathing area with loungers, as well as the sauna zone with relaxation rooms and a garden.
The project also includes the vertical extension of the existing building with a new office zone, as well as the expansion of the hotel section through the addition of extra floors above the sauna segment. The structure incorporates specialized technical areas, and the size and arrangement of individual functions have been optimized in terms of visibility and spatial relationships with the existing development. An important design principle is the deliberate shaping of the façade, emphasizing the status and character of the place.
The concept предусматриes a phased implementation and allows for future expansion with an independent children’s pool hall, located on the eastern side of the complex, with a separate entrance and an accompanying service and office zone positioned above.
The entire development is designed as a functionally diverse complex, responding to the needs of different user groups: adults — in the wellness and sauna areas; families — in the existing pool zone and outdoor spaces; and children — for whom a dedicated, acoustically separated area is planned as part of the future expansion.
